5 ways to personalize your Android smartphone using AI

Google’s artificial intelligence enters even more in searches, in Maps, even in Gmail and Docs and soon also in the smartphone customization options.
Among the many applications of generative AI that Big G has shown during the I/O 2023 conference (full details here), there are in fact some dedicated to making your mobile phone unique. Below we have collected the ones we liked the most.

Magic Compose
Google has described this new Messages feature as a way to “add a touch of personality more to conversations”, but in our opinion it could also become an excellent tool for overcoming the typical misunderstandings of the written language.
After typing a message, you can click on the dedicated icon for decide what tone you want to give to the words: if you want to play emotional, cool, poetic or singing or even if you want to try to imitate Shakespeare’s writing style. Generative AI will instantly rewrite textfollowing the instructions received.
Magic Writing is expected during the summerfor now only for the English language and in beta version.
Lockscreen Customization
Further expanding the possibilities offered by Material Youthe option that allows you to coordinate the appearance of the whole smartphone in a coherent way with the dominant colors of the background image, the next step is a customization of the lock screen which (much) recalls the one available on Apple’s iPhones.
You can choose and highlight them shortcuts to the most used apps, they will be available new graphics for the system clock, new font and also a new monochromatic theme that will delight the most minimalist users.
The Lock Screen Personalization will be available in the second half of 2023with the arrival of Android 14.
Emoji Wallpaper
Another option is to customize the wallpaper of your mobile phone with emojis, the facets that now more and more are part of our lives online.
The procedure is simple: from the menu Background and style you click on emojis, we choose some of the facets that best represent us (or rely on chance) and the software will create a composition based on those emojis, which will be of different sizes and will also react to taps on the screen.
Wallpapers with Emoji arrives on phones from the Pixel range already from June.
Generative AI Wallpaper
An additional way to create original wallpapers is use option With AI and the text-to-image capabilities of generative AI: you are guided by the prompts suggested by the artificial intelligence to describe what you would like to see, and the style in which you would like to see it (New York designed by an impressionist painter, for example), and you get a unique image to personalize your phone. The Cinematic Background is also coming to the Pixels already from this June.
