Meloni at the test of April 25: in the ring of fire of calling themselves anti-fascist

Giorgia Meloni is expected at the appointment on 25 April. She will have to go through the ring of fire of anti-fascism, on pain of being pushed back into the group of neo-fascism. It won’t be an easy feat. The dilemma that presents itself is to make a profession of anti-fascism and thereby deny the history from which it comes or to avoid the obstacle to take refuge in an anodyne formula that does not make the nostalgic people antagonize her and at the same time does not make the left cry out in scandal of a prime minister who does not recognize himself in the Resistance, i.e. in the founding act of our Republic born from the fight against fascism. The profession of anti-fascism is the ring of fire that until now all the leaders of the Italian right have always tried, to varying degrees, to avoid taking refuge in hesitant or otherwise evasive statements. Like: “When fascism died I was not born yet” or “Let’s deliver fascism to historians”.
