The forecast for 2023

The economic recovery in Italy and in Lombardy is evident and confirmed by the numbers recorded in the past year. Growth in 2023, thanks to the increase in inflation and the energy crisis of recent months, is instead expected to be less evident and slower: forecasts indicate that Lombardy’s GDP should grow by 0.8%, consumption by 1. 8% and investments of 3.3%. These are some of the data presented by Cna Lombardia in the First Focus on the trend of the regional economy, created by the Centro Studi Sintesi. The Focus focused attention on monitoring the territories by photographing the situation of the same in 2022 and making forecasts for the current year. The research shows that Lombardy’s GDP in 2022 should settle at +4.4%, with a significant slowdown compared to the previous year: however, in the same year the region recorded GDP growth of +3.9% compared to 2019, largely exceeding the pre-covid level.
