Instagram, Whatsapp and Facebook are down, problems accessing Meta apps

Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook users are complaining of problems accessing their social networks. The Downdetector site has recorded a peak of reports in the last hour in Italy, while many messages with the hashtag #Instagramdown and #Whatsappdown are starting to circulate on Twitter.
At the moment there are no official statements from Meta, the hoding that owns the three social networks, but the problem at the moment seems to mainly concern European users. The French, Spanish and German versions of Downdetector have registered reports in those countries. Meanwhile reports continue to arrive from all major Italian cities.
