Governance Poll: Bonaccini in front of Zaia. Among the mayors, Sala surpasses all

Stefano Bonaccini, president of Emilia Romagna, and Beppe Sala, mayor of Milan: they are the winners of the 2023 edition of the Governance Poll, the traditional survey of the consent of local administrators, carried out for Il Sole 24 Ore on Monday by Noto Sondaggi.

69% of Emilia-Romagna, if we voted today, would be ready to express their preference for Bonaccini again. Percentage that allows him to surpass Luca Zaia, governor of Veneto, record holder in 2022, who still obtains a remarkable 68.5 percent. In third place is Piazza Massimiliano Fedriga (Friuli-Venezia Giulia) with 64 percent. At the bottom are instead Christian Solinas (Sardinia) with 35% and Michele Emiliano (Puglia) with 43 percent.

The trend among governors

Even if the outcome of the Governance Poll is a judgment on individual local administrative experiences, the political data is interesting: among the four center-left governors, Bonaccini is the only one who improves his percentage compared to 2022. The 13 governors of center-right, on the other hand, are divided between those who gain ground and those who lose it.

In particular, in the top ten of the regions there are all members of the centre-right except Vincenzo De Luca (Campania) in ninth place with 54.5% approval: note the ex aequo placement in fourth place with 59% approval of the two Center-right non-League governors, Roberto Occhiuto (Calabria) and Giovanni Toti (Liguria).

The result of the mayors

Among the mayors, after Sala (65%), Marco Fioravanti (Ascoli Piceno, centre-right, 64.5%) is confirmed in second place, followed by Antonio Decaro (Bari, centre-left, 64%). Luigi Brugnaro (Venice, centre-right, 63%) falls from first to fourth place, ex aequo with Michele Guerra (Parma, centre-left, 63%). At the bottom of the ranking is the Mayor of Potenza Marco Guarente (42% of the votes).
