Fazio leaves Rai, towards signing with Discovery

A matter of hours and a matter of commas in the contract, Fabio Fazio is now out of Rai, ready to go to Discovery after a years-long courtship always returned to the sender.
“Che tempo che fa” in its various forms is therefore almost history for Rai. Started in September 2003, it brought famous personalities from politics, entertainment, heads of state and even popes.
The journalist takes this step with a full heart regardless of the interesting challenge that awaits him and where a satisfied Maurizio Crozza awaits him. In recent months there had been rumors of his possible departure for other shores, a bit like what happened when Rai, always center-right traction, made life difficult for him by tossing him from Rai1 to Rai2 to Rai3 and back. There too he was very close and then the predicate was A7. But now the games are done and the signature is a matter of a few details. It had been said that in Viale Mazzini they would send him away by making him an inadmissible low-priced offer. Instead it seems that this was not the case and that the lack of confirmation does not depend on economic issues. The fact is much more banal and pertains to the stalemate in which Rai has lived for months, since last November: Carlo Fuortes, the company’s outgoing managing director, simply did not want to sign the renewal, probably aligning Fazio’s program to a whole series of duties that Fuortes did not follow up on since they should have been carried out under another challenge and under another governance. Having said that, none of the new management, which has not yet officially taken office, has shown up at least to stop the ongoing negotiations. And no one will lift a finger say those in Rai who are close to Fazio. The announcement of the shirt change could arrive in a very short time.
