Don’t worry, artificial intelligence will never replace human intelligence

Great cries of alarm in the newspapers. Artificial intelligence will replace natural intelligence! Don’t worry, it won’t happen just as airplanes haven’t replaced the flight of birds or the wheel hasn’t replaced or made running with legs obsolete. It won’t happen because it’s in the nature of things not to happen. The reasons are of two complementary types. One has to do with a technical aspect of the matter, known to logicians and philosophers of mathematics and which is worth mentioning to the layman.
