Stop sending arms to Kiev, the Stability and Growth Pact, the ESM and the parameters responsible for economic and social austerity. And again: commitment to euthanasia, support for the Palestinian cause, introduction of national car sharing and minimum wages, a law on public water. These are some of the points of the program of ‘Schierarsi’, an «active citizenship» association born «with the aim of involving groups of citizens in the construction of proposals and projects for the community», reads the association’s website, which foresees for members must pay a fee of 20 euros.

Vice-President Alessandro Di Battista, historic face of the M5S, former member of the Grillino directorate, very loyal – at least once – to Beppe Grillo, a man close to Gianroberto Casaleggio and always kept in touch with his son Davide. The goal of ‘Siding’ «is simple – explains Di Battista himself on Facebook -. Being together and taking care, as active citizens, of our country and of all the issues that we decide to address. Then we have another goal: to take a position. Net positions. Clear. Not moderate at all.”

Politics yes but in the field, in the territories: in other words, activism. As for possible candidacies, Di Battista – who left the M5S in disagreement with the decision to support and join the Draghi government – could be one of the cards that the 5 Star Movement could ‘drop’ in the next European elections, in 2024 , also to curb the long dem wave pushed by the new secretary Elly Schlein. ‘Dibba’, in fact, has only one mandate from him as elected in the ranks of the Movement (no double mandate trap, therefore), so much so that already in the last political elections there had been contacts between the former pentastellato deputy and the leader of the Movement, Giuseppe Conte, to evaluate a return to the field. Contacts that ended up in a stalemate.

Now the theme could come up again in view of the European elections, assuming that Di Battista – recently spotted at the Grillo show in Rome where Conte was also sitting in the audience – wants to pack his bags for Brussels and, quite a secondary matter, that the ex premier consider seeing him return to the field wearing the M5S shirt again.
