Come on Italy, Antonio Tajani is the new national secretary voted unanimously – Corriere.it

All as expected. This morning in Rome the first national council of Forza Italia after the death of the founder and president, Silvio Berlusconiofficially entrusted the regency of the party to the current national coordinator, Antonio Tajani.


The national council of Forza Italia has voted unanimously on the document which entrusts Antonio Tajani and the collegial monocratic governing bodies according to the respective competences provided for by the statute with the task of guiding the movement up to the national congress in a unitary spirit, in continuity with the ideas and principles of our founder. The election was accompanied by a long applause.

The novelty of the Council (proposed directly by the deputy prime minister and approved unanimously) provides that, from now on, the head of the party will be called national secretary and no longer president: the latter term remains reserved for the historical figure of Silvio Berlusconi who founded Forza Italia and traces of which remain in the statute – which has therefore been updated with the two innovations – as well as in the party symbol.
