Clash between Striscia la Notizia and Monica Maggioni over an alleged conflict of interest. The journalist: “I’m suing you, the facts have already been archived”

“Striscia la Notizia makes improper accusations on facts that have already been archived. I have given a legal mandate in my defence”, says the director of Tg1 Monica Maggioni. He refers to the statements contained in the report aired on Friday 24 March within the satirical news of Canale 5. Which has returned to investigate an alleged conflict of interest in which the journalist, currently in charge of Tg1, is allegedly involved.

According to a 2022 Rai Supervisory question, four video production companies attributable to Monica Maggioni collaborated with state TV by providing documentaries that aired precisely in the journalistic spaces for which she was responsible.

For Viale Mazzini there are no irregularities. And Maggioni – with a note from the Rai press office – communicates that it has given a mandate to Studio Volo to intervene for its own protection in the appropriate forums against the program which “has improperly re-proposed accusations already filed by the National Anti-Corruption Authority, by the Prosecutor’s office and of Rai itself”.
