TikTok, the popular Chinese social network owned by Byte Dancehas less than six months to clarify the nature of its ties to the Chinese authorities, implement a prudent content moderation policy and verify the actual age of users: under penalty of suspension of service in France from 1 January 2024. The ultimatum was launched by the French Senate Commission of Inquiry led by the senator of the Indépendants – Républiques et territoires group, Claude Malhuretand focused on the study of the functioning and the influence strategy of the Chinese application.
