“I never intended to touch the wiretaps concerning terrorism and the mafia and those crimes that are satellites of these pernicious phenomena in the slightest”. The Keeper of the Seals Carlo Nordio speaks to the Chamber and illustrates his report on the state of justice in Italy, and assures: «If we do not intervene on the abuses of wiretapping we will fall into a halved democracy. According to the Minister of Justice it is normal that «there are colleagues who, having always worked as anti-mafia prosecutors, have an extremely severe view of these problems. But Italy is not made up of prosecutors and this parliament must not be supine and compliant with the positions of the prosecutors”.
