And she speaks, inaugurating the Ecr conference, alongside her longtime friend, Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish premier who welcomed her early in the morning in the Palazzo della Cancelleria, after the last European Council, a week ago, the two had , for the first time, took different paths. In short, the meeting, albeit planned for some time, serves to strengthen ties, to reaffirm the closeness. And Meloni also guarantees full harmony on the theme that produced the fracture in Brussels: immigration. Except that Morawiecki, perhaps malgré soi, with his simple flaunting of the watchwords of all time sovereignty, with his recourse to the vocabulary of affections of Visegrád, ends up somewhat illuminating the reticence of Meloni, his recent, however contradictory , an attempt to shelve anti-European propaganda. As restrained as she is in her vindication of this strange transnational nationalism, so ruthless is he. And of course: Morawiecki is grappling with a troubled electoral campaign.
