The entrepreneurial rise of Silvio Berlusconi, the triumphs of Milan. The Marquis Camillo Casati Stampa, the last owner of the villa before Berlusconi, was in fact at the center of one of the most murky crimes of the 70s: in fact, he killed his wife, her lover and took his own life at the height of an erotic story whose details were noted down by the Marquis for years in his diary.

The double homicide and subsequent suicide took place on August 30, 1970 not in Arcore but in the couple’s Roman residence, not far from via Veneto. Villa San Martino would have been for at the center of an inheritance dispute resolved with the surprise entry of the future prime minister.

Camillo Casati Stampa had married the beautiful Anna Fallarino in his second marriage in 1958, also returning from a failed marriage and annulled by the Sacra Rota. The new well-known couple frequents the international jet set (Camillo and Anna had met on the French Riviera), in the spotlight.

What remains protected by a gray area is the intimate life of the spouses Casati Press. He is a voyeurist and gets turned on by observing (and photographing) the wife he has sex with one or more occasional partners, sometimes recruited for a fee. Camillo reports for years the morbid details in a diary, details that will emerge in the course of the investigations following the crime. Today Anna drove me crazy with pleasure. She made love to a toy soldier so effectively that even from a distance I participated in her joy. It cost me thirty thousand lire, but it was worth it it reads on one of the pages.

Anna seems to play alongfor years the couple’s partners follow one another and disappear but at a certain point the plan gets out of hand: it happens when Anna Fallarino she falls in love with one of her occasional lovers. His name is Massimo Minorenti and with the woman he begins a relationship that lasts beyond the eyes of her husband. Camillus, however, becomes aware of it and is shocked: The first time she cheats on me with her heart… the biggest disappointment of my life she always writes in her diary.

Everything crashes in that summer of 1970. Camillo Casati Stampa leaves on a hunting trip in the company of the Marzotto family, Anna remains alone in Rome with Minorenti. The Marquis calls home and the gigol himself answers the phone: the spark of the crime. Camilla hastily returns to Rome, to the house in via Puccini where she finds her wife and her young lover. She locks herself in a living room with them after dismissing the service personnel (five people). These moments later they hear gunshots and call the police.

Camillo and Anna will still be buried together in the Milanese cemetery of Muggi But next to the police investigation (soon closed due to lack of culprits) a dispute arises over the inheritance of the Marquis Casati Stampa; the latter had a daughter from his first marriage who was still a minor at the time of the tragedy.

At stake is the ownership of villas and buildings scattered between Rome and Milan, Brianza including Villa San Martino. The nobleman’s will indicates Anna Fallarino recipient of that heritage, but the sole heir would be the minor daughter. Ownership of the villa went to the latter, who in the meantime had come of age and moved to Brazil. Rich heiress but also pressed by the debts left by her father. The sale of villa San Martino comes entrusted to the family lawyer, Cesare Previti. The park, the villa (with an annexed library of 10,000 volumes and a collection of paintings) came valued at the time at 1 billion and 700 million of lire.
