Tomorrow afternoon Daniela Santanchè will go to the Chamber, to the Senate, for a report. And she will go there, say the people who are close to her, “prepared” and sure of being able to bring arguments, meticulously studied with a group of lawyers who assist her, “capable of sweeping away any shadow”.

The Minister of Tourism, elected to the Senate for Fratelli d’Italia, has been at the center of attention for weeks for the investigations of the Raitre broadcast Reports on the unclear management of its companies. Among others, there is the story of Visibilia, a group that he founded and managed as majority shareholder until last year: it is at the center of an investigation by the Milan prosecutor’s office for bankruptcy and false accounting. On it Reports came back again yesterday evening: “Visibilia – it was revealed – was already exposed to the banking system starting from 2011 for 15 million euros”. In those years, says Report, “the parliamentarian with her former partner Canio Mazzaro buys the Ki group, thanks also, to read the conditions, to a benevolent loan from Monte dei Paschi di Siena”. So Reports dusted off a judicial investigation, closed in 2019, on the Banca Popolare di Milano, with which Visibilia’s exposure was 2.8 million. During the episode, a 2012 interview was aired in which Santanchè denied that she had been facilitated in the disbursement of credit due to her political role. Finally, some employees of the Ki Group, during the broadcast, denied the minister, who had claimed to have anticipated the redundancy fund during the pandemic period.

Despite the intensification of details and the ongoing judicial investigation, Santanchè appears calm. Not only because of those promised clarifications (“I will explain everything” she declared on several occasions) on which she works with the lawyers, but also because she believes she is supported by the party and by her leader Giorgia Meloni. In an interview with Courierthe premier declared: «Santanchè will explain in the Chamber: a choice of transparency and seriousness that is not taken for granted and which demonstrates his good faith».

The same minister, since the days immediately following the first revelations, has regularly participated in the various demonstrations to which she was invited, always among the entrepreneurs, a category she feels sympathetic to. And she claimed: “I put my face into it”.

Tomorrow he will have his say. The opposition is already in the trenches: “Faced with these facts, if confirmed, resignations are the minimum wage”, warned yesterday the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Shlein.
