What is happening in the last few hours on the troubled Rignano-Roma track (don’t say Parioli!) is essentially incomprehensible to anyone who observes politics from their national perspective. Yesterday at 18.30 Carlo Calenda, with a message that resembles a proclamation, had “convened the Political Committee of the Third Pole to discuss and vote on the proposal for the constitution of the single party. We don’t have any more time to waste.” However, sources from Italia viva point out that the meeting had already been scheduled, the preparatory work for the single party and the related timetable have been going on for some time and no votes were scheduled on the agenda. And certainly not as final as those announced. We will see. What is most interesting to note here is that looking at them from a Milanese and Lombardy-centric perspective, the tensions on the verge of rupture between Action and Italia viva appear even less understandable. In fact, one really cannot understand the rationale.
