In the aftermath of first administrative round the results speak for themselves: the government coalition wins 4-2 over the centre-left. “I wish all the mayors elected in the first round of the administrative elections. The center-right confirms its strength as a government coalition, the value of stability and clarity in front of the Italians,” said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “The consensus of the voters spurs us to accelerate the implementation of the program of economic, social and institutional reforms”, she added.
That of the municipals is “a clear result in favor of the centre-right. Among the four municipalities where the centre-right wins, there is one, Latina, which has changed hands: that is, it governed the centre-left and now governs the centre-right with Matilde Celentano, a candidate for Brothers of Italy. From the Bernini hotel in Rome, the leader of Italia viva Matthew Renzi comments on the vote of the local administrations: “I believe that no one has won them or rather that the administrative victory is decided by the second round: if you look at the numbers, the center-right won, but in reality the center-left is stronger in the second round and I believe that in the second round the game will be open in many municipalities”.
