Return to the European Parliament for Eva Kaili, the former vice president of the EP who was arrested last December in the context of the Qatargate investigation and released on 25 May. Kaili had not attended a plenary session in Strasbourg since November. A discreet return, that of the Greek MEP, who however was immortalized in the Chamber during the voting on Tuesday 11 July. The former vice-president sat among the MEPs with no group, having been barred from the Socialists shortly after her arrest. The MEP from Thessaloniki could be present today at the Eurochamber’s vote on the text of the recommendations for the establishment of the interinstitutional ethical body put in place right after the Qatargate.
