The real enemies of the Nordio model of guaranteeism are found in the majority

The guarantees shown on the reform of the justice system are largely negatively compensated by the penal populism fielded every day by the center-right in its government activity. Ten school cases, ten stories

You guaranteed a tube, dear Meloni. The good intentions shown by the minister Charles Nordio on justice reform show an important but also surprising face of the government majority. A new face, if you will, which is in open and happy contradiction with a piece of recent history of the populist right, which after having animated the noose policy for a long time has chosen to devote more attention to guaranteeist policies. It can be said without embarrassment: a right that chooses to support the Nordio linea line attentive to the guarantees of a suspect, a line attentive to the separation between the powers of the state, a line aimed at restricting the perimeter of the media process, a line that tends not to resign itself to the idea that Italy should be a Republic founded on the overwhelming power of the prosecutors, it is a right that has undoubtedly taken a step forward towards a season of greater attention to guarantees. But if you honestly choose to zoom in on the action of the executive, you will easily notice that the myth of the guaranteed center-right dissolves like snow in the sun in the face of the daily government action. And if you have the patience to put a few dots together you will have no trouble recognizing that the guarantee shown by the government on the Nordio package is largely negatively compensated by the penal populism fielded every day by the center-right in its government activity. The repressive obsession of the center-right majority was ironically framed by our newspaper within the category “Giorgia forbids things”. But alongside the inevitable irony about the prime minister who has specialized in banning everything she can – sometimes going so far as to ban things that are already banned, just to be able to say that she has banned them even more, such as synthetic meat for example, which regardless of the laws of the government will be prohibited until it is authorized by Europe, as happened moreover for insect meal – the belief that criminal law is the main tool to put a stop to all forms of injustice is becoming a recurring trait, dark and dangerous, which deserves to be strongly highlighted and denounced.
