The Pnrr is growth insurance

Istat has updated, raising them, the growth forecasts for Italy: +1.2 per cent in 2023 and +1.1 per cent in 2024. This is good news, also because it is perfectly in line with the European Commission’s estimates. The growth at the beginning of the year was driven by domestic demand, especially public administration consumption, followed by investments and household consumption. Istat records that in the first quarter of this year, after a slight decline at the end of 2022, the Italian economy had a GDP expansion of 0.6 percent which brings the growth acquired for 2023 to 0, 9 percent. However, this means that in the rest of the year there will be a slowdown in growth, due to the slowdown in the global economy, the effects on domestic demand of the restrictive monetary policies to curb inflation and the disappearance of the “drug” of building bonuses .
