The multiple (and crazy) identity of the Democratic Party

These are three unrelated but convergent symptoms that show a worrying disorientation of the Democratic Party. Who seems to suffer from an identity disorder more than in an identity crisis. The first is the appointment, wanted by the secretary Elly Schlein, of Paolo Ciani as vice president of the group in the Chamber: the only exponent of another party, Demos, which has no intention of joining the Democratic Party and the only exponent of the parliamentary group which is now called to coordinate and to have voted against the group’s indications on a fundamental foreign policy issue such as the shipment of arms to Ukraine. On the same day, and we come to the second symptom, the Court of Ministers of Brescia dismisses the positions of former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and former Minister of Health Roberto Speranza (now of the Democratic Party), accused of manslaughter and culpable epidemic in the investigation on the management of Covid in Val Seriana: the prosecutor’s thesis was based on an expert opinion – evidently not considered solid by the judges – by prof. Andrew Crisantisenator of the Pd and supporter of the secretary Schlein.
