Now we know the amount of the contribution: 2,500 euros. This is the amount with which the Lombardy Region has decided to support the «Amiably – A goal for Bethlehem» tournament organized by the Bran-Co association (Branca Comunitaria Onlus), known for being close to the far-right group Loyalty Action. The financial support can be consulted in the decree 4982 of last April 3, in which the expenditure budgets in support of “initiatives and manifestations of regional interest” are decided.

In the document, which lists all the beneficiaries of the Region’s contributions for that specific tender, we find various associations from different sectors, connected to as many events: from the Italian Touring Club to the Pro Loco of Pontida (here supported for the historical re-enactment of the Pontida oath) , from the Elisabetta Sgarbi Foundation to the Lecco section of the Cai. However, support for the Bran.Co football tournament (which will take place on May 21 in Monza, and which, as stated in the poster, will donate the proceeds “to the children of Bethlehem”) had already been criticized in recent days.

The first to denounce everything was the Anti-Fascist Memory network: “With the proven technique of charity events, the far-right group drains public money”. Criticisms also in a joint press release from the provincial PNA of Monza and Brianza and that of Lombardy: «The connection between “Loyalty Action” and its thematic organizations is never hidden – the note read – The important investigation «Black Galaxy » edited by the national Anpi demonstrates how behind the organizations that apparently carry out works of solidarity and socialization, the spread of negative values of fascism and Nazism is hidden. These organizations are inspired by what is most distant from the Italian Constitution, born of the Resistance and completely anti-fascist. We ask the Region to rethink its decision to grant patronage”.
