The government indicates Roberto Sergio CEO of Rai and the Melon era begins in Viale Mazzini

The Council of Ministers, according to what has been learned, has designated Roberto Sergio as a member of the Rai board of directors representing the Mef. Now the ball passes to the president of Rai Marinella Soldi, who will have to convene the assembly of Rai members (Mef and Siae) in which Sergio will be indicated as the new CEO. It will probably be convened for Monday 16 May, and on the same day Soldi could also convene a new Rai board of directors to ratify and vote on Sergio’s name indicated by the government. Once he assumes the effective role, the new managing director will have to appoint the general manager, who will be Giampaolo Rossi as per previous agreements which provide for the exchange of roles in 2024. The urgency is to proceed as soon as possible with the appointment of directors and managers of newspapers and genres, which in all likelihood will take place in the board of directors already set for 18 May.
