PD lawmakers this morning voted to cancel Italy’s financial support for the Libyan coastguard. During the meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense commissions of the Chamber of Deputies, where the Dpcm scheme for the financing of Italian missions abroad was discussed, the dem deputies presented an amendment (which was rejected by the majority) to definance the mission support to Tripoli. “It is a mission to be suppressed”, commented the secretary dem Elly Schlein in a note. Before adding: “Once again the majority, by rejecting our proposal for suppression, has shown that it does not want to see reality and has stubbornly continued to go ahead with its usual absence of a serious migration policy worthy of a civilized country”. .
