A basket at controlled or discounted prices

A basket, not just food, of discounted products or with a maximum price ceiling. These are the proposals put forward by the government to counter the expensive cart linked to the still high inflation for foods such as bread, pasta, rice, fruit and vegetables, milk and eggs. The Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, says: We are working to control the prices of consumer goods by identifying a `basket not only of food with mechanisms that we will define in these days with all the players in the supply chain, from large-scale retail trade to producers and traders. The ministry is planning a series of meetings with large-scale retail trade and an agreement with pasta makers, manufacturers of baby products, is possible, added the minister. Urso then recalled how with the transparency decree we activated the Price Guarantor in January which can not only have a moral suasion but can claim targeted interventions.
