There have been attempts to affirm a liberal reformism, but all failed. Not that anyone really knows what liberal reformism means, if any. Let’s limit ourselves, not to mention the Democratic Alliance (Scalfari-Adornato) or the late Massimo Severo Giannini (Galli della Loggia-Teodori), to the lightning-fast and immediately outdated experiment of Mario Monti, in which Carlo Calenda was also smearly involved as a support to the savior of the country, good as a statesman and professor but short-ranged in the arena of parliamentary and social manoeuvre.
