Reforms, the Democratic Party warns Meloni: “Other priorities. They are not a way to distract attention from work, health and Pnrr”

The reforms proposed by Giorgia Meloni are not a diversion. There are other priorities that interest the country and, among these, there are neither presidentialism nor the premiership. This is the summary that emerges from the secretariat of the Democratic Party met this morning by Elly Schlein at the Nazarene. A preparatory meeting for the summit convened by the premier at Palazzo Chigi scheduled for tomorrow. The prime minister aims to open the reform dossier with a first round of “listening” to the opposition. An invitation that, in the parts of the Democratic Party, was accepted with a certain diffidence. “The summons – are the first reflections that emerge from the first interventions held in the secretariat – is not a way to distract attention on issues that affect people and the needs of the country: work, health, Pnrr”.

In short, Schlein and his team do not trust the outstretched hand that comes from the government on the subject of institutional reforms, especially after the intention, announced by the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, to proceed equally even without the opposition. The center-right, in fact, would aim to propose the prime ministership as a solution that strengthens the role of the prime minister. “It is appreciated by the majority of the parties”, is the conviction of Tajani who winks at the third pole, in favor of discussing the so-called “mayor of Italy”. The hypothesis, however, does not convince the dem.
