Tight deadlines for governance. Pd-M5S still tension on directions

Tight times for the new Rai after the resignation of CEO Carlo Fuortes. Already tomorrow the Council of Ministers could indicate the successor, Robert Sergio. The idea is that the board of directors can meet as soon as possible, ratify the appointment of the manager who can then be designated Giampaolo Rossi general manager. For this reason, the convening of the board on May 18 could be brought forward to Tuesday 16. Yesterday in Viale Mazzini it was speculated that the new gender directors could already be nominated in the first session. A haste that is explained by the need to launch the autumn schedules which should be presented in June and by the urgency of restarting the contracts which have so far only been partially extended by way of derogation. Among these would be missing Reportsthe investigative program of Siegfried Ranucci, to which the majority has never spared criticism. A case that threatens to explode.

Meanwhile, among the ranks of the opposition there is tension between the Pd, M5S and centrists. The idea that the president Marinella Soldi – considered “Renziana” – remains in place, the League does not like it but it also triggers the irritation of the Democratic Party, which would remain in charge of the Tg3 with Mario Orpheus and that of Andrew Vianello on Radio Uno and radio news. While the M5S, thanks to the pact with Meloni, would get Radio Due for Simon SalaExternal Relations for Claudia Mazzola and would claim for Joseph Carboni no longer Rai Parlamento but RaiNews24. Therefore the idea is advanced that the Democratic Party is asking for the presidency of Rai, there is one eligible candidate Anthony DiBellato days retired.

“The Renzi government’s Rai reform law is once again showing all its harmful aspects for Rai’s editorial and industrial independence”, complains the Rai director Riccardo Lagana. Yesterday, the meeting of the CDR and of the Trustees of Rai “expressed strong concern for the situation in which the company finds itself”, asking that contracts with outsiders of Rai be limited. Among them the most important would be to Gian Marco Chiocciwhich Meloni would like to al Tg1. But also the arrival of Nicholas Porro from Mediaset (which shouldn’t go in place of Fabio Fazio, but in prime time on Rai2) raises internal protests.
