Poland, President Mattarella at the presidential palace for the meeting with Duda

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by his daughter Laura, is at the Presidential Palace to meet the Polish President Andrezej Duda. At the end of the meeting, the two presidents will speak to the press. The state lunch is scheduled for tonight, while tomorrow Mattarella will see the Polish prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, and the presidents of the Chamber, Elzbieta Witek, and of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki.

In the afternoon, the Head of State will be in Auschwitz, where he will lay a wreath in front of the execution wall, then he will visit the Museum together with the sisters Andra and Tatiana Bucci, who survived the deportation to the concentration camp, and with the students of three Italian institutes and finally will participate in the closing ceremony of the March of the living. On Wednesday, the last day of the visit, Mattarella will be in Krakow, where he will lay a wreath at the plaque commemorating the deportation by the Gestapo, on November 6, 1939, of professors, lecturers and assistants from the Mining Academy and the Jagiellonian University.
