MilleMiglia, the former Alitalia loyalty program now managed by a special company — Italia Loyalty — continues for at least another twelve months and starts the new edition from 1 January 2023 for over 6 million subscribers. Members, explains a note, will be able to continue to accumulate miles in the current edition until 31 December 2022 and spend them by 31 January 2023. Miles that are not used can be reconfirmed up to 100%, in the new edition, as a bonus loyalty that will be recognized as a reward to all members who, from 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023, have accumulated from a minimum of 2,000 up to 3,000 miles.

The possibilities

For the MilleMiglia programme, the company confirms collaborations with Air France, KLM, Middle East Airlines, Air Europa which, with a network of over 400 destinations worldwide, offers the possibility of accumulating miles valid for access or renewal of club membership Ulisse, Freccia Alata and Freccia Alata Plus. Through the dedicated travel portal in collaboration with lastminute.com – continues the note – members will be able to continue to purchase flights by choosing from over 400 airlines available and stays from over 1.5 million of solutions, earning 5 miles for every euro spent. Italia Loyalty also explains that it will be possible to accumulate miles to use car rental services (Avis, Maggiore and Budget) and taxi transfers.

The budget

MilleMiglia ended 2021 — according to the official financial statements — with a profit of 6.8 million euros, against around 4 million the year before and almost 19 million in 2019, when the pandemic didn’t exist and when the program loyalty was within the perimeter of Alitalia, the company that then gave way to Ita Airways. It was perhaps the only profitable subsidiary of the old national airline.
