There are no candidates and no commission presidents either

There are no candidates, but neither are they able to close on the presidencies of the electoral commissions. Time 48 hours and the provincial and regional congresses of the Democratic Party will be postponed until after the national primaries. Bureaucratic quibbles which, as usual, hide the lack of an agreement on the name and therefore to avoid wars we are moving towards postponement, this is for once a unitary one. In the sense that they all agree. Also because if at a regional level the name should be that of a Deluchian (between Nicola Landolfi, Gino Cimmino and Fulvio Bonavitacola), in Naples the game for after Marco Sarracino has not yet opened due to a sort of pre-primary pax.

Today the regional commission met in the dem headquarters in Naples, chaired by the former magistrate and current MEP Franco Roberti: For me – he tells Ansa – a new experience that I did not expect but which we are carrying out with great determination and with great effort. So far, contrary to my determination, we have not been able to compose the names of the commissions of the provincial congresses of Naples and Caserta and we have seen this as a defeat for the regional commission. Now we await the decisions at the national level and we count on their good will and determination to compose these commissions, which are difficult to build even though they are an absolutely unavoidable task. The regional commission, on the other hand, is already at work but there are no applications that must be presented by the afternoon of January 27: Two days left – explains Roberti – and we continue to work full-time. We strive to make it but let’s see if we can. I always communicate with the party in Rome and from there they give us instructions on how to proceed while respecting the rules. All that remains for us in the commission is to continue working within our possibilities and counting on the support of Rome. If the regular nominations are not reached, the commission remains to proceed with the elections after the national primaries. In Naples, the statute provides that the mandate of the secretary Marco Sarracino expires in December, but the same has repeatedly declared his willingness to have the Naples congress held before this deadline. In the event of his early resignation and without a unified path, the statute of the Democratic Party provides that the president Paolo Mancuso has thirty days to convene the provincial assembly and elect a new secretary.
