Oppositions agree on minimum wage. But Calenda signs a separate note

A single proposal that will be presented to the Chamber in the next few days, to reaffirm “the need for an intervention to guarantee the adequacy of workers’ wages, especially those in conditions of poverty also due to inflation”. Signed: Giuseppe Conte (5 Star Movement), Nicola Fratoianni (Italian Left), Matteo Richetti (Action), Elly Schlein (Democratic Party), Angelo Bonelli (Green Europe) and Riccardo Magi (+ Europe). The first piece of news is therefore the agreement reached by the opposition on the minimum wage, with a note released this morning. The second is the absence from the list of signatories of Charles Calendawho defines the proposal as “balanced”, thus saying that he will support it, but does so separately, with a very personal tweets.
The threshold decided by the centre-left is 9 euros per hour, “to protect in particular the most fragile and poorest sectors of the world of work, in which the bargaining power of trade union organizations is weaker”. And it does not concern “only subordinate workers, but also employment relationships that present similar needs for protection”. Furthermore, for oppositions, a “commission made up of institutional and social partner representatives”, in order to “periodically update the minimum hourly salary”.
