Controversy in Bolzano. The Northern League players Kurt Pancheri and Roberto Selle are the protagonists, who also post the photo among the ultras on social media. The president of the assembly: we can’t do anything about it. Even those who disconnect are entitled to the token

One left the camera on, the other connected from the Sparkasse Arena with the ultras in the background. The Northern League councilors Kurt Pancheri and Roberto Selle, who had themselves photographed at the Sparkasse Arena together with the provincial councilor Massimo Bessone, thus ended up in the sights of their colleagues who got into syrups throughout the city council meeting on Tuesday evening.

Some have alerted President Stefan Konder who, however, can only throw his arms in the air. «The majority of directors have decided to go ahead with the mixed system, i.e. face-to-face but also online meetings. If one leaves, we can’t do anything about it», explains Konder, recalling that board meetings are planned well in advance to give everyone the opportunity to organize themselves.

The case of the absentees was brought up by Barbara Pegoraro, of La Civica per Bolzano, who on Tuesday evening was indicated as a scrutineer and therefore had the task of checking the regularity of the votes. “I reported to the president that a councilor (Pancheri ed) had the camera turned on and aimed at the chandelier,” explains Pegoraro, underlining that the new system, tested yesterday for the first time, presents several critical issues. Among those who stigmatize the choice of former party mates is Patrizia Brillo, who recently left the League to create the “Centre-right” civic list. “It doesn’t seem fair to the citizens to cash in the token and then disappear as soon as possible,” says Brillo, teasing her colleagues. «Absurd controversy, I left a little early to go to the match as happens regularly to many directors. We regularly see that the number of participants drops in the last few votes», replies Pancheri who recalls having always spoken out in favor of face-to-face meetings and against online.

The practice, as the president of the municipal council explains, is by no means new and these situations are bound to repeat themselves. “We have had advisers connected while at the seaside in Spain or while jogging. The regulation only establishes that the camera must remain on at the time of roll call and during votes and speeches. So even those who log out have the right to the token, in the courtroom you have the same situation: once the appeal has been made, one can leave and collect the token».
