From tensions to the thaw that took place during the Brussels bilateral: Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron are the characters with the greatest visibility on Italian radio and TV in the last week.

This is what emerges from the monitoring on the main national and local television and radio channels, carried out by Mediamonitor.it, a platform that uses technology and solutions developed by Cedat 85, a company active for over 35 years in the supply of speech content. Mediamonitor.it analyzed what were the most recurring topics on our radio-television stations from midnight on Sunday 21st to 12pm on Thursday 2nd March.

Meloni obtains 1,774 citations, Macron, whose pension reform has unleashed a wave of protests and wildcat strikes in France, about a hundred fewer (1,647); both clearly detach the PD secretary Elly Schlein, bronze medalist with 675 mentions, also returning from a post-election accreditation mission to Brussels.

In fourth position, the analysis by Mediamonitor.it places Francesco Pio Maimone (552), the eighteen-year-old victim of an absurd crime in Mergellina, followed by Vladimir Putin (511), in the limelight for the partnership signed with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping and the arrest warrant issued against him by the International Tribunal in The Hague, and by Pope Francis (451).

Statements on migrants and the 16,000 Ukrainian children kidnapped by Moscow earned Ursula von der Leyen seventh place (380); the president of the European Commission precedes the coach of the national football team, involved in qualifying for Euro2024, Roberto Mancini (373) and the president Sergio Mattarella, who spoke in Casal de Principe on the day in honor of the victims of the mafia and, in Rome, in the commemoration of the massacre of the Fosse Ardeatine (331). The Minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, closes the ranking of Mediamonitor.it with 306 citations.

The Mediamonitor.it survey also sees Giorgia Meloni (7,765 mentions) in the top five of the most mentioned by radio and TV in the last 30 days, followed by Elly Schlein (5,018), Pope Francis (3,076), Sergio Mattarella (1,793 ) and Vladimir Putin (1,662).
