We talk about ecological transition, sustainable development, Pnrr and nuclear power, but what do the guys from Fridays for future think? “Imagine having a stable, low-emission energy source that covers a large component of your energy mix and requires little funding to maintain? Would you give it up in the midst of the climate and energy crisis? Germany does”, write the guys from FFF Italia on Twitter, accompanying the post with a long one excursus on the history of German nuclear power, which highlights how the nuclear energy source, “with very low emissions, comparable to solar and wind power”, went through a period of contraction in Germany after the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the resumption of anti-nuclear demonstrations (2011), saw a subsequent phase of contraction, up to 2021, with production falling to 6 percent of energy and 12 percent of electricity.
