Molinari’s rebuke to Salvini on European alliances (watch out for the Afd)

In the League they continue divisions on the European location ahead of next year’s elections. The question that everyone is asking – first of all the leader Matteo Salvini – is whether and when it is worth abandoning the current coalition with the AfD (the German far-right party) and Marine Le Pen’s Rassemblement national, to join the EPP or perhaps create a new group directly. The two alignments are clear and see in their ranks leading names of the Northern League nomenclature: on the one hand the line of moderation, led by Giancarlo Giorgettion the other the one that insists on staying where it is, whose most accredited representative is probably Lorenzo FontanaSpeaker of the House and third state office.

Pushing for a farewell to the current coalition, a new statement came today from the group leader in the House, Richard Molinari. “In Europe, the current location allows us to affect lesseven for some travel companions they make the group less… drinkable”, he says in an interview with Corriere della Sera. The tones are clear-cut and unequivocal: “Better to say ‘we have solved’ than to continue complaining about bad Europe“. A clear signal to the head of the Carroccio, in view of the next meeting, on May 29, when a decision will inevitably have to be made.
