Boccia writes to La Russa: “Intervene to restore a place in the Copasir to the Democratic Party, after the passage of Borghi to IV”

A letter to the president of the Senate Ignatius LaRussato ask him to give back to the Democratic Party the place it deserves in the Copasir, after the senator Enrico Borgo he passed to Italia viva. The dem group leader formally sent it to the Senate on May 2 Francesco Boccia. What’s the point? That now the dem have only one representative in the bicameral for the Security of the Republic, the president of the Committee and deputy Lorenzo Guerini, but he would be entitled to a second member, a senator. But the Democratic Party, the Pd leaders complain, has a much larger parliamentary group than that of IV-Azione.

“It is quite evident – writes Boccia to La Russa – how what happened constitutes a serious vulnerability to the guarantee of representation within the Committee which must be composed “in proportion to the number of members of the parliamentary groups”, pursuant to the provisions of the founding law”. Therefore, the request is to intervene “to protect the role and prerogatives of the Democratic Party group” and “to adopt the necessary initiatives to restore a situation of correctness in the representation of the Groups within the Copasir, also in line with and in compliance with the amendments introduced to the Senate Regulations in the last legislature in terms of contrasting the phenomenon of parliamentary transfughism”.

Translated: La Russa will find a way to replace Borghi and guarantee the Democratic Party the extra representative it deserves. Or the bad behavior of the shirt changes will be rewarded, giving support to one of the first group passages of this legislature.
