About fifty reporters forced to board before the arrival of the premier. Then, in Campania, the press remained under the sun for a long time waiting for the authorities

There was no shortage of controversy on the day of the inauguration of the Frecciarossa 1000 Rome-Pompeiiwhich connects the Italian capital without changes to one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world (every third Sunday of the month).

About fifty brothers lost their temper journalists, television operators and photographerswhich they encountered inconvenience already on departure from Rome Termini. For the day, in fact, in addition to the passenger train, a special convoy was organized with the authorities and journalists on board, called by Trenitalia to document the morning. Also on board were the premier, Giorgia Meloni, the minister of culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, and the managing director of FS, Luigi Ferraris. What kindled spirits was the impossibility for the press to document the arrival of the Prime Minister at the Roman station, since reporters were given the order (for security reasons) to get on the train (well in advance ) without the possibility of asking questions and taking photographs, postponing everything to a moment with the press in Pompeii.

But it doesn’t end here because new problems have arisen in Campania. The institutional delegation was transferred to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii for a visit to the excavations, while the journalists were left under a scorching sun for more than thirty minutes awaiting the return of the premier Giorgia Meloni. A long wait until at about 13, with the protest of the press representatives who were unable to follow the visit held by the security service behind a cordon, armed only with a fan made available by the railways, a few white umbrellas and some kind of basic necessity.

The deputy of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra also spoke about the episode, Angelo Bonelli: Our solidarity with the journalists who, in an attempt to carry out their work, were locked up in a train carriage – commented the co-spokesman of Green Europe -. Giorgia Meloni pursues the Cul.Pop.Mel, of distant memory, to write a Melonian Popular Culture by distorting reality and light years away from the real problems of the country. And she does it by locking up the exponents of the free Italian press who would rather write what they see, hear and think. Even today another dark page of our Republic, concluded Bonelli.
