Meloni in Brussels hopes on Zelensky to mitigate the bitterness about migrants and state aid

At Palazzo Chigi last night they minimized. Or perhaps they were dissimulating: “no irritation” for the summit at the Elysée between Macron, Scholz and Zelensky, to which Giorgia Meloni was not invited. And there’s no need to bang your head against the wall if the other day, silently, the Franco-German ministers of the Economy, Robert Habeck and Bruno Le Maire, were in Washington to “mitigate the effects” on the EU of United States Inflation Reduction Act. Not even on that occasion Italy, the second manufacturing country in Europe, was there. In this context, in which she is not exactly the protagonist, Prime Minister Meloni arrived in Brussels last night where today she is awaited by an EU Council on which the best wishes for the government of the nation do not hover, between requests presented and real successes to be collected. However, it will be a special day for the Prime Minister.
