Meloni at Copasir denies the government’s responsibility for the escape of Artem Uss: “It’s the fault of another state body”

“It’s not the fault of the government but of another organ of the state”: Giorgia Meloni today she was listened to for over two hours by Copasir and spoke of the escape of Artem Uss, the Russian businessman who was under house arrest in Basiglio, a small town in the province of Milan. The meeting with the parliamentary forces was also attended by the undersecretary of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Services Alfredo Mantovano and the director general of Dis Elisabetta Belloni.

Meloni’s reference to responsibilities is to the judiciary: it is no coincidence that the Minister of Justice Charles Nordio sent the inspectors to the Milan prosecutor’s office, which had granted uss house arrest. Whose supervision was entrusted to the carabinieri of Basiglio, who checked him at home every 72 hours. According to reconstructions, Uss managed to leave Italy in a few hours by car on March 22, changing several cars and with false documents, crossing the Trieste border and entering Slovenia. From there he arrived in Serbia, from where he would take a flight to Russia.
