“We have illustrated the judgments and positions of the CGIL and the changes we will ask the government for at the meeting on the 7th and that we will ask all the political forces”, Landini specified. “While I was meeting the M5S, other members of the secretariat are meeting with a delegation of the Brothers of Italy, a meeting with the League is scheduled for tomorrow, in recent days we have met with the Democratic Party, the Left and the Greens. We have written to all the political forces in parliament because we believe it is necessary to change and improve this budget law which contains very wrong things”.

“We ask for a new Statute of labor rights,” said Landini. “We are not addressing a single political party. All forces must decide if they want to take on work as the reference from which to start again, it is no coincidence that we propose a new Statute of workers’ rights as in the 70s when it was the whole parliament to vote on the statute, indeed even the then communist party abstained, but in that case the statute was voted on by both the right and the left”.

Conte: strong government with the poor

Think of just one fact, we went from Draghi who failed to write a decent standard on the extra profits from which he wanted to obtain 10 billion which never arrived and here instead we have a government that renames that provision as an extraordinary solidarity contribution and wants to obtain only 2 and a half billion”.

Change the maneuver

Landini said, “we will ask the government to open a real negotiating table on the reform of pensions and taxation to overcome precariousness and seriously increase wages. So let us intervene for a tax reform worthy of the name”.

The maneuver “contains very wrong, unacceptable things that don’t solve the workers’ problems. We think it needs to be changed and improved,” said Landini. Among the main problems, he said, is that of wages: “People don’t make it to the end of the month. The world of dependent work is paying a very high price and there is no wage increase in the maneuver. The decontribution it was already there. We ask that we reach 5% not 2%”. In addition, “we ask that all the absurd measures on cash raising and pos be withdrawn and cancelled,” said the CGIL secretary general.
