The government launches an initial loan to encourage the autonomy of the Italian supply chain, especially on raw materials. Green light also to the juridical-economic institute and to the certification of the products: Coldiretti rejoices. All measures

The sovereign wealth fund for Made in Italy is a reality: in yesterday’s Council of Ministers, the government approved the bill which finances the first billion euros for the allocation to support Italian companies. The goal is “to enhance and promote productions of excellence, historical and artistic beauties and national cultural roots”, as stated in the press release. And the one billion fund is only a part of the measures launched by the ministry of Adolfo UrsoIn fact, there are 50 measures in all, ranging from corporate training to protecting the brand from counterfeiting, up to the establishment of a day entirely dedicated to Made in Italy.

However, the main novelty remains the fund for companies: the model is the French one, which has reached a capital of more than 2 billion euros, of which 500 million from the state. The sense of the measure is to channel investments, thus filling the main deficits of Italian industry. Above all, the issue of raw materials, for which Italy still largely depends on imports from China, with obvious geopolitical implications. “Without true autonomy over critical raw materials, even the transition to electric power could hold very serious risks for us”, said Urso a few days ago, who is trying with the sovereign wealth fund to encourage greater independence in the Italian supply chain.

Turning to education, the creation of a was formalized high school for Made in Italy, which will become an option for pupils from the 2024-2025 school year. The study plan will mainly have a legal-economic focus and will be supported by a “Business and skills” foundation: essentially, the institution will be responsible for promoting the link between companies and high schools, with specific training courses held by tutors who they should prepare students, once they have obtained their baccalaureate, for entry into the entrepreneurial world.

To protect the Made in Italy brand, the government then implemented a new labeling system for Italian products, which should thus guarantee quality certification and, at the same time, curb the counterfeit market with an increase in penalties. Particular attention is paid to pasta, with a specific commission that will have to maintain correct certification. On the merits, Coldiretti rejoices: “Measures to combat false Made in Italy agri-food are important, which are worth 120 billion in the world, double the exports of tricolor food and drinks”, says the agricultural organization in a note.

But, as mentioned, there are numerous interventions envisaged by the bill that will be launched by the executive over the next few months. There is, for example, the introduction of the national Made in Italy day, set for April 15th. But also the allocation of 10 million intended for the strengthening of female entrepreneurship, as well as interventions dedicated to the tertiary sector and the Italian cultural heritage.
