Leonardo La Russa’s cell phone could become a case in the Senate. The president’s staff: “Over the mark”

The Milan public prosecutor’s office would be willing to ask the Senate for authorization to seize the phone from Leonardo Apache La Russa, son of Ignazio, president of Palazzo Madama. Indeed, according to what the newspapers reported, the SIM card of the 19-year-old, reported for sexual violence by a 22-year-old girl, would be registered in the name of his father: this would prevent the Public Prosecutor’s Office from seizing the phone without authorization from Parliament, given that deputies and senators enjoy a particular form of guarantee. “I am serene. The lawyer of the La Russa family, Adriano Bazzoni, made it known that the affair he will deal with the telephone in the coming days, given that the topic had not emerged in the defensive talks held so far.

The fact is that today the staff of La Russa has also released a note to respond to the coverage that the media is having of the case. “No more political speculation”, is the message from the staff, according to which “from a media point of view, the mark is now over”. Now that there is a lawyer, the president of the Senate “will abstain from any direct or indirect comment on the matter, having full confidence in the work of the Magistrates of the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office”, adds the note. A stance that also seems to have been inspired by the words of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni two days ago. When on a visit to Lithuania to participate in the NATO summit, she said: “I would not have intervened in that way”, referring to the immediate declarations of La Russa, in which she cast serious doubts on the credibility of the accusing girl, who “only filed a complaint after 40 days”.
