He was sentenced to 2 years and 10 months for embezzlement, with perpetual disqualification from public office and a confiscation of 38 thousand euros, Alberto Di Rubba, appointed in April as the new federal administrator of the League. Di Rubba is also former president of the Lombardy Film Commission and former administrative director of the Carroccio in the Senate.

The sentence in a tranche of investigation, coordinated by the adjunct Eugenio Fusco and the prosecutor Stefano Civardi, resulting from the one on the Lfc case, which had already led to a conviction for Di Rubba and Andrea Manzoni, former auditor of the League in the Chamber. This was decided by the investigating judge Natalia Imarisio, who sent Manzoni to trial.

In the new vein, closed in March 2022 at the expense of 9 people, again coordinated by the deputy Fusco and by the prosecutor Civardi and conducted by the economic and financial police unit of the Gdf of Milan, Di Rubba and Manzoni and others had been challenged, on various title, tax crimes, embezzlement (only for Di Rubba) and bankruptcy, also for Manzoni, who chose the ordinary procedure. The latter, in fact, was indicted together with other defendants (Pierino Maffeis, Elio and Alessandro Foiadelli and Gabriele Nicoli) with the first hearing scheduled for November 23 before the third criminal section.

At the center of the new investigation tranche was also the matter of embezzlement relating to the Areapergolesi company, contested precisely against Di Rubba and the director of the same company Giuseppe Digrandi, who had already negotiated a plea deal. Di Rubba, on the other hand, chose the abbreviated procedure and was sentenced today (motivations in 90 days).

On the other hand, Manzoni is accused of an alleged bankruptcy, but also the alleged frontman of the Lfc case Luca Sostegni (his sentence was reduced to 6 years in continuation with the plea agreement of the main branch) and other people in relation to the bankruptcy of the March 2021 of the New Quien company.

Sostegni is defended by the lawyer Giuseppe Alessandro Pennisi. Luca Lanfranchi, another defendant in the abbreviated trial, was sentenced to 2 years.

Manzoni and Di Rubba have already been sentenced for the main case to 4 years and 4 months and 5 years respectively for the case of the sale of the Cormano warehouse, purchased by the Lombardia Film Commission, with which 800 thousand euros of public funds were allegedly drained. The appeal process will take place in October. While the former trusted accountant of the League, Michele Scillieri, and his brother-in-law, Fabio Barbarossa, have asked to negotiate, before the investigating judge Roberto Crepaldi, a sentence of 4-5 months in continuation with that for embezzlement already negotiated in February 2021.
