Lega treasurer Alberto Di Rubba was sentenced to 2 years and 10 months for embezzlement – Corriere.it

A new sentence for Alberto Di Rubba, treasurer of the League, after the previous five-year sentence for bid rigging and embezzlement in the investigation into the Lombardia film commission. This morning the verdict for Di Rubba inflicts a sentence of 2 years and 10 months of imprisonment for embezzlement, with perpetual disqualification from public office and a confiscation of 38 thousand euros.

Di Rubba was named federal administrator in April directly from the leader of the League, Matteo Salvini. Today the treasurer was sentenced with abbreviated rite by the investigating judge Natalia Imarisio in a tranche of the investigation that arose from the one on the Lombardia film commission case.

This is the case that had already produced, in the context of the main trend, the sentences for Andrea Manzoni, former auditor for the League in the Chamber, and Di Rubba to 4 years and 4 months and 5 years respectively for the case of the sale of a shed in Cormano, purchased by the Lombardia Film Commission, through which 800 thousand euros of public funds would have been drained. The appeal process set for October.

In the new complex investigation, which ended in March 2022 (against nine people), Di Rubba, Manzoni and others were accused, for various reasons, of tax crimes, embezzlement (only to the treasurer) and bankruptcy. Under the magnifying glass is the matter of embezzlement relating to the Areapergolesi company, disputed against Di Rubba and the director of the same company Giuseppe Digrandi, who has already negotiated a plea deal. According to the indictment, when the Northern League was president of the LFC, it would have appropriated, between 2015 and 2018, just over 38 thousand euros reclaimed from Lfc to the current account of Ra.ma.tex spa, a property owner company.
Money that was equal to the savings obtained by the Areapergolesi company
by virtue of the reduction of its rent on those properties and which had been, in practice, entrusted, according to the prosecutors, to the LFC foundation, a public body participated by the Lombardy Region.
