There was also an exchange between the leader of Italia Viva and the prosecutor Luca Turco. At the end of the hearing he then confirmed to journalists the heated discussion and said he was absolutely not intimidated. “If someone thinks of threatening or intimidating me, he doesn’t know me,” he explained to reporters. The former premier also announced that he would be leaving for Genoa “to present a new complaint against the Florentine prosecutors” and that he was against the postponement of the hearing pending the decisions of the Constitutional Court. The judges of the Consulta will have to establish whether the Florentine prosecutor’s office has violated Renzi’s rights as a senator without asking the Senate for authorization, as required by the Constitution.
