The secretary of the NGO "No peace without justice" was suspected of having allowed Panzeri to launder money from Qatar. Now he has been released unconditionally

Antonio Panzeri's statements reduce
the role of Niccolò Figà Talamanca in the investigation into alleged corruption in the European Parliament,
orchestrated by Antonio Panzeri himself in favor of Morocco and Qatar. After an interrogation in which he provided many clarifications, the secretary of the NGO "No peace without justice" obtained his unconditional release. After signing a collaboration agreement with the investigators, Panzeri
he would have explained to the investigating judge Michel Claise
that Figà Talamanca's role would not be that of the cash launderer as the indictment claimed. In fact, the documents only show a Cartier watch that the man allegedly received as a gift in Qatar, but as a thank you after a conference, and the apartment in Cervinia that he bought last spring and which was confiscated.

Figà Talamanca has shown that he paid with a regular mortgage. Accused of having participated in the criminal organization set up by Panzeri, Talamanca obtained house arrest with an electronic bracelet a couple of weeks later. The prosecutor's appeal had prevented his release and the prison was subsequently confirmed by the judges. Talamanca was suspected of having allowed Panzeri to launder money from Qatar, even though the investigation documents only included a Cartier watch that he had received as a gift in Qatar after a demonstration. At the request of the Belgian investigating judge Michel Claise, an apartment that Talamanca bought last year in Cervinia was seized in December, on suspicion that the sale was connected to the investigation, but Talamanca demonstrated that he had bought the property by paying for it with a mutual. Of the nine people arrested since the beginning of the investigation that shocked the European Parliament, Antonio Panzeri, his "partner" Francesco Giorgi, Giorgi's partner, the former vice president of the European Parliament Eva Kaili and, in Italy, but under house arrest, Panzeri's accountant, Monica Rossana Bellini. Yesterday Parliament lifted impunity for MEPs Andrea Cozzolino and Marc Tarabella, whose names appear on the record.
