Giuseppe Conte he explains to the government that keeping migrants at sea “does not solve the problem” but “is just propaganda”. He then criticizes the “easy slogans” and the “muscular displays to the detriment of desperate people and families”. It is a clear position, which however radically contrasts with the policy of closed ports practiced by his own government in 2018, the one that led to Matteo Salvini’s “Security” decrees.
