The good impression that the government aroused in its first months in Brussels and on the markets was due to the budget law written in a tight time frame, to measures such as the squeeze on building bonuses foolishly granted by the Conte government, to the start of the phasing out of subsidies energy and, finally, to the Def which confirmed a framework of responsibility for public finances. The protagonists and vigilant guardians of this constant impulse to prudence are the MEF, starting with the General Accounting Department, and Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti. Who deserves solidarity: the task he carries out arouses discontent and incomprehension primarily in the parties of his majority.
