From Turin to Udine, the centre-left elects mayors in the cities of the A4- Corriere.it

It is a curiosity that recalls the controversy over the Pd “party of the Ztl” and which was also confirmed in the last round of the municipal elections with the victories of Laura Castelletti in Brescia, right from the first round, and Giacomo Possamai in Vicenza in the ballot.

The A4 line starts from Turin where Stefano Lo Russo, exponent of the Pd, in October 2012 he conquered the Municipality administered in the previous five years by Chiara Appendino (M5S). In Milan since 2016 the government of the metropolis has been governed by a centre-left council led by Beppe Sala who, however, has never joined the Democratic Party. Same color in nearby Bergamo for nine years entrusted to the direction of Giorgio Gori, he does with a dem card in his pocket (albeit with very different ideas from those of the secretary Elly Schlein). In Brescia, the centre-left confirmed its leadership of the city thanks to the passing of the baton between Emilio Del Bono (Pd), now regional councilor, and Laura Castelletti, a civic with a socialist past.

In Veneto, the centre-left axis rests on three cities. We start from Verona, where one year from Damiano Tommasi (Pd) he snatched the Municipality from the center-right. We continue with Vicenza, a city that on Monday saw the victory of Giacomo Possamai (Pd) who managed to defeat the outgoing center-right mayor Francesco Rucco. It closes in Veneto with Padua, the city led by the entrepreneur without a card Sergio Giordani, elected in 2017 and confirmed in 2022. The motorway line ends, with a slight detour, in Udinese. On April 18, Alberto De Toni, a civic candidate supported by the centre-left lists, defeated the outgoing Northern League mayor Pietro Fontanini in the runoff.
